Meet Helen
Hi, I’m Helen Heavirland—an author and a bridge builder.
I help individuals build bridges—
from the frustration of “I want to write my story, but I don’t know how” gr-r-r
to the delight of “It’s done and I’m proud of my stories!” Yay!!!

Since 2009, with my coaching, people who didn’t consider themselves writers, have discovered purpose and satisfaction in sharing. Their simple stories, well-written, have the power to transform lives.
Nearly four decades ago, I was scared to write a story, then scared to share it. Now, I’ve published hundreds of stories and five memoirs. I’ve edited two anthologies of true Christmas stories—assisting some authors who had never before written. (Might your story be in the next anthology?) I’ve been published in four languages and won awards for stories, articles, gift books, children’s picture books, and memoirs.
In the process, I’ve developed frameworks that simplify writing and shortcut the process—in days instead of decades, whether or not you’ve ever written before, you can write stories that light up reader’s lives. Encouraging others as they write stories is one of my greatest joys!
Outside of my passion for story coaching, I like to read, birdwatch, hike, read, cross-country ski, volunteer, garden, share activities with extended family, walk on the beach, and . . . did I mention, read? 😉
Whether intended for family reading or for publication, one of my greatest thrills is knowing my clients’ stories will touch hearts for generations to come.
